Thank you for noticing! I was just about to link to my volumes, and was shocked to discover that I seem to have missed them when I did the bulk of my LT cataloging. I'll rectify that straightaway.

In the mean time, here's Linne's Hammarby.

Here, we go; a special tag for the occasion: Linnaeus.

(And let's not forget Elias Ashmole's birthday either.)

Old father "L" (as he's known in the trade) must surely be beloved by catalogers, since one MARC record offers these alternatives:

Linné, Karl von, 1707-1778
Linneo, Carlo, 1707-1778
Linné, Charles, 1707-1778
Linnej, Karl, 1707-1778
Linnaeus, Carolus, 1707-1778
Linnaeus, Carl, 1707-1778

Happy birthday, L. You set a great foundation, and we've been building on it ever since.

Your disciple,

RJO
