LibraryThing at PLA

Greetings from sunny Minneapolis!

The LibraryThing for Libraries (LTFL) contingent will be at the Public Libraries Association conference this week, holding court in the exhibit hall. Our booth number is #1652, which you should definitely visit if you're going to be at this fine affair.

We're there to spread the word: recommended reads CAN be in your OPAC. Your patrons SHALL experience the exquisite joy that is tag browsing. You WILL be amazed how easy it is to implement.

We'll be showing off our amazing OPAC enhancement tool, featuring libraries who have implemented LTFL. You can witness firsthand how seamless the enhancements look in WebPac Pro, HIP and others.

You'll know our booth by the giant rhinos.

You know your fame has peaked when you do a google image search for "inflatable rhino" and see your own face...

You could actually bring in an entire gaggle of inflatable rhinos (if that's the correct collective noun - which it isn't); the union rules at MPLS convention center let you bring in anything you can manage yourself on a dolly. I brought in three loads of boxes for the Sisters in Crime booth (on the other side of the hall - 242 if you want to visit).

As for the cost of OPACs being correlated to displays at conferences - omg, there were HUGE productions going on. Enormous booths being constructed using heavy machinery. Quite something to see.I'd go for inflatables any day.

I'll be visiting 1652 sometime on Thursday and will say hello to the rhino. Oh, and to Sonya and anyone else who's around.

Yay for LTFL!
